Maybe I'll try messaging Valve again or seeing if I can do anything with this. I appreciate all the support on this post. I felt like I'd wasted a load of time because I'd believed the deck would work out.Įven now seeing this art is a mixture of devastation that it didn't work out, and happiness and pride that I properly finished a large project. So that completely crushed my confidence and I didn't really know what other routes to take. So when I released the deck on steam workshop (which is still there btw) I heard nothing from Valve except through FFBF (at the time WeLoveFine) who told me that essentially it wasn't going to happen, and while it might in the future it was unlikely. Unfortunately at more or less the same time, unknown to me, the other deck was being made and had already been given the green light from Valve for production & recognition as the official set. I attempted to get this done officially through Valve as that seemed like the best option. (Ironically I am now, regardless) I had lot, emotionally and financially, riding on and hoping for the potential success of this deck, as I was spending so much time on it.
Essentially I was making these at a time when I really really wanted to become a full-time artist. I feel like I could clarify the situation which happened with these cards but it seems like a long story and is kiiinda dragging up the past for me.
